In the end, the Magpies recruited six new faces, including two centre-backs, two strikers, a midfielder and a left-sided ace.
Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez were signed to bolster the back line, while Yoshinori Muto joined and Salomon Rondon agreed a loan deal in the hope of improving Newcastle’s goal tally from last season.
Ki-Sung yueng also signed on the dotted line as an addition to the middle of the park, while Kenedy was sanctioned another loan deal from Chelsea.
