da heads bet: Unai Emery will be preoccupied with preparing his team for a tough trip to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday, but the biggest issue at Arsenal right now could have far more significant repercussions than a potential defeat to Chelsea.
da imperador bet: Majority shareholder Stan Kroenke isn’t exactly thought of fondly by Gunners fans – in fact, many blame his lack of ambition and financial support for the north London outfit’s decline over the last few years – but the American businessman is now set to own the club outright after reaching an agreement to purchase Alisher Usmanov’s 30% stake.
That will initially leave Kroenke with 97% of all Arsenal shares but he’d therefore be able to execute compulsory purchases for the remaining 3% and subsequently redefine the club as a privately owned entity – meaning the notorious AGM meetings, perhaps the only form of official accountability Kroenke currently faces, will be come a thing of the past.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast’s Fixture In Focus Podcast, AFTV’s Robbie Lyle revealed that he fears for any club owned by one person, but especially Arsenal under Kroenke.
“I’m just never happy when I see one person owning everything at a football club,” said Robbie. “As a fan I don’t like it – even if it’s at other clubs I don’t like seeing it. I think you’ve got to have some accountability. Stan Kroenke really isn’t the most accountable guy even with the percentage he has now.
“Last time he was asked at a board meeting what his vision was for Arsenal the chairman told us to go and read about it in the papers the next day. He’s not forthcoming with what his plans are and now that he owns 100%, he doesn’t have to have an AGM, he doesn’t have to tell us anything really.
“And then I look at the clubs that he owns and none of them have been really successful, so I’m not filled with enthusiasm about him taking over 100% of the club. I’m really disappointed with how its all panned out and I think I speak for most fans there.”
