da 888casino: According to reports in The Sun, Chelsea are ready to offer Nemanja Matic to Juventus in their bid to sign £60m-rated defender Leonardo Bonucci this summer.
What’s the word, then?
da esport bet: Well, Blues manager Antonio Conte wants to bring in an experience centre-back to replace the departing John Terry and the 30-year-old is one of his top targets.
The Italy international looks set to leave the Serie A giants following a number of fallouts with manager Massimiliano Allegri, who signed a deal to stay as the club’s boss until 2020 on Wednesday.
While the Old Lady are demanding £60m, Chelsea aren’t keen to pay that much and instead they are ready to offer £48m plus Matic to try and tempt the Champions League finalists into a deal.
Why would Conte want rid of Matic?
It’s difficult to say.
The Serbia international was a mainstay in the side that cruised to the Premier League title and he was an impressive performer alongside PFA Player of the Year N’Golo Kante in the middle of the pitch, often keeping Cesc Fabregas on the bench.
That said, Conte has been searching for a new central midfielder this summer and has been heavily linked with Monaco’s Tieumoue Bakayoko, who would most likely slot in to the midfield next to Kante.
That could make Matic surplus to requirements and mean that he can be used to try and bring one of Conte’s top targets to west London.
Why did Bonucci fall out with Allegri?
The Juve boss accused the 30-year-old of failing to follow his instructions during the 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last weekend, and the relationship between the duo looks to have completely broken down.
Would he be a troublemaker at Chelsea?
No, probably not.
Bonucci has worked under Conte at Juventus and for the Italy national team and he quickly became a key player in defence for both – winning three Serie A titles under the leadership of the Italian.
He obviously has great respect for the manager and he could be a huge signing for Chelsea to help them retain their Premier League title and have a real crack at the Champions League.
What’s the verdict, then?
Well, while £60m is probably too much for a 30-year-old an offer of £48m plus Nemanja Matic could be enough to seal Bonucci’s move to the Premier League.
