Leeds United face Sheffield United in a Yorkshire derby at Bramall Lane in Paul Heckingbottom’s first match in charge of the club on Saturday, and Whites fans have demanded that he hands Stuart Dallas a rare start.
The Northern Ireland international found it difficult to break into the XI under former manager Thomas Christiansen, and just three of his 16 Championship appearances this season came when he was named in the starting line-up.
The 26-year-old will be hoping for better luck under new boss Heckingbottom, and with the 40-year-old facing a number of injury and suspension worries he could get his opportunity against the Blades, especially after his cross forced Sol Bamba to score an own goal in the 4-1 defeat against Cardiff City at Elland Road last weekend.
Leeds supporters were quick to have their say on the winger – who may well be asked to cover at full-back – via social media, and while one said “Dallas has to start”, another said “I’d like to see Dallas get his deserved run in the team”.
