da bet nacional: Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has had his say on Tottenham Hotspur’s lack of transfer activity.
da 888: The North London outfit, who finished last season as runners-up to champions Chelsea, have not signed any new players so far this summer.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino does not need to strengthen his side significantly as he has decent players filling every position.
The club did lose Kyle Walker to Manchester City, though, but it seems that the coach is satisfied that Kieran Trippier can step into the first-choice role.
Every single one of Tottenham’s main Premier League rivals have recruited new faces during the window.
Manchester City have spent more than £200m, while Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool have all added to their squads.
Even Everton have parted with more than £100m on new faces, which include former United captain Wayne Rooney.
Giggs believes that Spurs will be in the running for the title having finished second last season, but suggests that their chances would be boosted if they brought in some new players.
The former Wales international told Sky Sports:
“Tottenham have a really exciting squad and a great manager in Mauricio Pochettino, but everybody is asking whether they can continue to match sides without signings.
“I think they need a couple, not to improve their starting lineup but to make the squad better, while they’ve also got the Wembley factor, so they really need to get off to a good start.”
